Manager - Product Certification & Requirements

We are currently looking for a structured and organized manager for the Product Certification & Requirements team as part of the Quality organization. We are looking for a person with previous management experience and a background in the area of:
- Type Approval and Self-Certification
- Global Certification Requirements
- Authority Interaction
This position will be based at Polestar’s headquarters and the physical location will be in Gothenburg, Sweden.
What you do
In this role you will be responsible for managing the Product Certification & Requirements team and ensure certification of Polestar products for our global markets. In close collaboration with the product development and program teams you will set the strategy, content, timing and budget for current and future products and ensure that the certification activities will be completed, and the certification deliveries are achieved. Furthermore, you’ll secure that legal requirements are accessible to key stakeholders and regulatory changes are monitored continuously. Conformity assurance during the entire product life cycle is another element of this role for which a close collaboration with the Product Quality and Compliance teams are essential.
Your responsibilities will be:
- Secure that legal requirements are monitored, distributed and met by Polestar products
- Maintain and further develop processes and strategies for product certification
- Align certification needs and deliveries with internal and external stakeholders
- Set time, content and budget planning and report status in relevant fora
- Represent Polestar and lead communication with authorities and technical services globally
- Escalate and document any deviations and close out any risks connected to product certification
- Ensure all evidence is in place to support production for Polestar products and continuous conformity is secured
- Report to global authorities according to requirements in the target regions
- Drive continuous improvement and develop tools and processes for certification
Who you are
You have excellent skills when it comes to documentation, planning, structure and attention to detail. You are a strong communicator as well as empathic, trustworthy and you are good at creating strong relationships with different stakeholders. You are energized by working in a creative start-up environment, taking action where you see potential and creating structure where needed. You can travel internationally to maintain contact with authorities and technical services as well as with the team members to support certification activities.
To be successful in this role, we believe you have:
- Previous management experience
- Good knowledge of certification procedures in global markets
- Ability to understand complex legal requirements
- Courage to stand up for legal demands
- Excellent skills in communicating certification needs
- High motivation to work out solutions in a collaborative way
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written
