CAPEX Controller
We’re looking for a structured, analytical, and hands-on new team member to join Polestar’s Finance team as a CAPEX Controller. If you're passionate about financial accuracy, thrive in a dynamic environment, and want to help shape the future of sustainable mobility — this could be your next step.
You’ll be part of a collaborative finance team and report to the Manager Industrial Controlling. The role is based at our Global Headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden. We embrace a hybrid working model, recognizing the value of both in-person collaboration and focused remote work. What matters most is having the time, tools, and trust to get things done — and to enjoy doing them.
The opportunity
As a CAPEX Controller, you’ll be responsible for consolidated capital expenditure and cash reporting across actuals, forecasts, and business plans. You’ll support program teams with both balance sheet timing and cash flow, and take ownership of vendor tooling controlling — ensuring proper classification, activation, depreciation, and scrapping of company assets.
You’ll also play a key role in developing robust processes for capex planning and reporting, and contribute actively to the evolution of the controlling team.
What you will do
Your main role is to manage and improve capex reporting and processes, ensuring financial clarity and control across the organization.
Key responsibilities include:
- Consolidate and report capex & cash across actuals, forecasts, and business plans.
- Support programs with balance sheet timing and cash flow analysis.
- Manage vendor tooling controlling, including ordering, asset classification, activation, depreciation, and scrapping.
- Develop and implement robust processes for capex planning and reporting.
- Actively contribute to the development of the controlling team.
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis as needed.
Who you are
To thrive in this role (and at Polestar), you are analytical, proactive, and business-minded. You’re comfortable working independently and cross-functionally, and you know how to turn complex financial data into clear insights for a wide range of stakeholders.
We believe you have:
- A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a similar field.
- At least 8 years of experience in controlling, preferably within the automotive industry.
- Strong knowledge of Excel and financial reporting tools.
- Solid business acumen and the ability to collaborate across global teams.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interpret and present financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- The ability to plan, coordinate, and execute work independently and within diverse teams.
- A flexible mindset and strong problem-solving skills.
- The ability to prioritize effectively and handle ad hoc requests with confidence.
The process
The process if the above matches your ambitions, be sure to apply. Our selection process is ongoing, and the job advert will remain open until it’s filled. The Polestar journey is an electric one.
