This role is responsible for managing the PS4 finished vehicles quality & logistics operations from the Manufacturing Factory to the Ports of Export in Korea.
To support the shipping of cars for Polestar to make it’s yearly/quarterly/monthly sales and handover targets and missed/delayed shipments will lead to sales losses.
The role will work on-site in the Manufacturing Factory to coordinate the Production Plan, Shipping Schedule, Pre-loading Inspection, Shipping Status Report with the Factory and Polestar APAC central team.
In addition, the role is also responsible for working with Polestar Quality Team for quality-related activities.
What you'll do
Operation Management
- In charge of managing production volume forecast and matching them with shipping plan and vessel capacity.
- Working with APAC central Logistics team for production volume monitoring and vessel capacity booking.
- Oversee the flow of cars from factory until the point of loading on vessels. Report out the issues, and where is needed, take active control on corrective actions.
- Act as the key contact window in Polestar towards the Factory to ensure Polestar car production volume is covered as planned.
- Manage all running issues on-site. Where needed, negotiate the best possible scenario for Polestar and provide troubleshooting support.
- Measure the KPI from FC to Departed Korea and where needed report out and take corrective actions.
- Manage the progress of damaged car repair according to the procedures and deadlines.
Communication and Collaboration
- Dynamically monitor and manage actual shipping volume (vessel capacity) vs. production volume, collaborate with APAC central team to manage the gap and deviation on a regular basis.
- Frequently communicate and take in requirements and priorities from all PS markets. Collaborate to arrange the priority orders and action plans on-site in Korea.
- Proactively and timely communicate with PS APAC/PS EMEA/PS US Team about the progress of priorities and requirements.
- Collaborate with the Exporter, Shipping Lines to solve the issues happening before cars are loaded on vessels. Recognize potential risks and escalate for solutions if needed.
- Make meetings arrangements per business needs. Where needed participate in carrier escalation meetings.
KPI Management & Reporting & Administration
- Summarize business and operation status and make reports on a regular basis.
- Follow up shipments batch by batch. Keep optimizing the process in daily operation to reduce the delivery time and improve efficiency.
- Set a governance mechanism to report and solve issues regarding operational deviations, escalate issues as needed.
- Make and manage budget, purchase request, payment as needed.
- Support the needed cost control to ensure cars shipped stay within approved budget.
- Support internal & external audit as needed.
Supporting the Global Manufacturing Quality team with:
- Represents Polestar Mfg. Quality towards our Manufacturing suppliers and business partners in quality related processes and matters.
- Being an expert in customer perceived and experienced product quality, both detection of issues as severity assessment according to Polestar Quality standards (PCPA).
- Performing product and process audits where and when required independent or with business partners and report the found non-conformities to Polestar management and related business partners and suppliers, escalate when needed.
- Supports being an interface between Polestar’s global quality teams and the plant’s Quality teams, handling plant quality escalations, non-conformities and deviation according to agreed processes and working methods.
- Collects, analyzes and report Manufacturing quality data as input to the quality improvement processes. Start investigations where required.
- Participates together with Global Product Quality Team in the investigation, symptom analyze, problem description and data collection of Mfg. Quality, customer quality and compliance problems arising, supporting the problem-solving processes until interim and permanent containment actions are implemented in plant or at suppliers.
Who you are
- At least 8+ years finished-vehicle logistics management experience, on export programs will be a plus.
- Strong cross-function communication and collaboration capability.
- Details and Problem solving-oriented and well-organized working style.
- Thorough knowledge of finished vehicle import/export, inland distribution, maintenance, and repair.
- Fluent in English oral and written.
- Logistics experience with a quality mind.
- Experience with Product & Process quality assessments is recommended
