Technical Training Specialist

The Technical Training Specialist will strive to deliver technical knowledge & service training excellence at Polestars service point locations across North America. You will be responsible for working with service staff across the U.S. and Canada to deliver technical training on an ongoing basis in both digital and in-person formats. You will play a key role in supporting the maintenance and development of all courses for our Polestars Service Points. You will work with teams to strategize and develope new ways to educate and engage Service Point personnel, who work on our front line directly with our Polestar customers.
This position will require 25-50% overnight travel throughout North America.
What you’ll do
- Deliver hands-on technical and service training to Service Point staff responsible for servicing and repairing Polestar vehicles as well as those working directly with clients in the service lane.
- Work with Quality and Product teams to ensure market needs are reflected in all training materials.
- Stay attuned to student needs and knowledge gaps to provide direct support and recommendations for additional development opportunities.
- Handle local support cases for training needs such as accurate portal access, administration, and monthly audits for off-boarding of users.
- Create and follow up with additional development plans for service personnel who have not met course completion expectations.
- Align with global training schedules for internal employees, Polestar Service Points that match the Space network expansion as well as in-Space growth
- Follow up on completion rate and ensure 100% training completion with support from the regions
- Compile feedback from Service Points regarding training requests for expansion and improvement.
- Aid in the development of training courses to ensure continuous improvement within Technical & Service Training.
Who you are
- 5 years of experience in a training or facilitator role.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Strong automotive-based technical expertise, reflected in certifications from current or past manufacturer
- Proven experience delivering training and individual coaching to technical and non-technical teams
- Ability to manage multiple demands of competing priority from a variety of interested parties (dealers, field staff, corporate staff.)
- Proven experience successfully formulating and delivering training programs and individual coaching sessions
- You understand the needs of a premium customer within a retail environment, acquired through experience with a premium OEM or retailer for a premium brand
- A natural at building and cultivating relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external
- You are an imaginative self-starter and strive for ways to enable change
- Firm understanding of the key customer satisfaction and sales drivers in a premium retail industry
- Ability to think strategically and work tactically, with strong project skills
- Ability to work with and present to dealer principals
- Drive and determination to work in an evolving, ever-changing environment
- Experience with video production and virtual facilitation methods a plus, but not required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Outlook
- Familiarity with the electric vehicle marketplace a plus.
