The opportunity
We're currently looking for a Technical Specialist within our Vehicle Motion Control team. Someone to join our Chassis Systems department to deliver world class chassis & vehicle dynamics performance in our vehicles. Someone with a passion for electric mobility, an interest in technology, and a desire to create the change we know is needed.
The Vehicle Motion Control team is one of the key pillars within Chassis Systems, with full responsibility to define and manage the Chassis Sub-System design and functions for our vehicles, taking ownership of all aspects including implementation, system safety, system validation & calibration. The Vehicle Motion Control team is a global team that covers all Polestar vehicle programmes, with key interfaces both internally and externally.
This position is located primarily at our Gothenburg site, but also covers other sites within Sweden and the UK. There will be some expectations of travel, to our Sweden & UK locations, but also potentially across Europe and China depending on the needs of the team and activities for a given project. We believe in a hybrid model when it comes to remote and onsite work, knowing that both in-person collaboration and individual time to focus are needed. What matters most is that people get the time, and support, to do what needs to be done. And to enjoy doing it, of course.

Working as part of the Chassis Systems Group, you'll be instrumental in delivering world class Chassis Systems on all vehicles. See below for a more thorough breakdown of the various tasks and areas you'll influence or be responsible for :
- Systems Engineering covering Brakes, Steering and Suspension (FO/SO/EO)

In order to succeed in this role, and at Polestar in general, there are a few characteristics you'll need to have. Tenacity. Flexibility. Curiosity. Drive. The ability to take the initiative, to meet deadlines & requirements, and to abandon ideas when they're not feasible.
You must have a strong technical background, having the ability to provide expertise, guidance and direction to all team members across a diverse range of experience levels, activity types & subject areas. The wide scope of the team needs you to be able to manage complex technical challenges, team resources & test properties, budgets and deliverables in a prioritized manner, without falter, creating confidence and trust both in the team and with the wider Polestar business.
You must have a vision for the future, as Polestar continues to grow and expand its vehicle line up and product offering. This vision must encompass both the technical solutions & strategy, but also the resources, skill and tools that complement this vision.
In addition, you'll need the following qualifications:
