The opportunity

We're currently looking for a Software Project Manager. Someone to join our Software team in order to lead the next generation Digital Head Unit (DHU) project for Polestar vehicles. Someone with a passion for electric mobility, an interest in technology, and a desire to create the change we know is needed.

This position is located at our Gothenburg, Sweden offices. We believe in a hybrid model when it comes to remote and onsite work, knowing that both in-person collaboration and individual time to focus are needed. What matters most is that people get the time, and support, to do what needs to be done. And to enjoy doing it, of course.

The responsibilities

In this role, you'll be expected to lead software projects, with an initial focus on delivering the next generation DHU project for Polestar vehicles. Working as the Software Project Manager, you'll be closely collaborating with the complete vehicle project teams in China and Sweden, as well as managing development with Chinese suppliers.

• Project Management: Lead DHU software development, ensuring alignment with timelines and budget.
• Supplier Coordination: Act as the primary liaison between Polestar and Chinese suppliers, ensuring clear communication and timely delivery.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with vehicle project teams in China and Sweden to ensure seamless integration of software.
• Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve project issues quickly, ensuring minimal disruption.
• Reporting: Provide regular updates to stakeholders, maintaining clear and concise project documentation.

The ideal candidate

In order to succeed in this role, and at Polestar in general, there are a few characteristics you'll need to have. Tenacity. Flexibility. Curiosity. The ability to take the initiative, to meet deadlines and requirements, and to abandon ideas when they're not feasible.

The ideal candidate possesses exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English, with proficiency in Mandarin being a plus. You have strong problem-solving abilities, capable of analyzing complex challenges and finding effective solutions. Thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic organization, you demonstrate adaptability in rapidly changing environments and tackle obstacles with creativity and resilience.

In addition, you'll need the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of embedded software project management experience in the automotive industry, preferably with Geely or Volvo.
• Proven experience in coordinating international teams, especially in China.
