Accountant, Financial Reporting
The opportunity
We're currently looking for an Accountant, Financial Reporting, to join us and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with IFRS, local GAAP and SOX requirements, and coordination of statutory audits across two legal entities—PSNY and PHAB.
You’ll be part of Group Accounting team within a global finance organization working closely with cross-functional teams like controlling, tax, treasury and legal. The team plays a key role in ensuring high-quality financial reporting and continuous improvement of accounting processes in a fast-paced, international environment.
This position is located in Gothenburg, Sweden. We believe in a hybrid model when it comes to remote and onsite work, knowing that both in-person collaboration and individual time to focus are needed. The responsibilities
In this role, you'll be expected to oversee financial accounting and reporting for the assigned legal entities, ensuring compliance and accuracy across all reporting processes. You'll also be instrumental in driving financial close processes, reporting, and audit coordination.
Key responsibilities include:
Oversee and take responsibility for preparation and coordination of monthly financial closings in Workday and reporting in the AARO consolidation system, including related SOX controls
Review and analyze monthly financial reporting
Contribute to the preparation of the Polestar Group Annual Report and Quarterly SEC filings
Lead the preparation of the statutory accounts/annual report, including coordination with external auditors
Drive implementation of process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
Lead the coordination for the statutory audit process
The ideal candidate
In order to succeed in this role, and at Polestar in general, there are a few characteristics you'll need to have: tenacity, flexibility, and curiosity. You take initiative, work well under deadlines, and feel comfortable navigating change in a dynamic and international environment. You bring a structured and analytical mindset, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate it clearly to different stakeholders.
In addition, you'll need the following qualifications:
University degree in Finance
3–7 years of experience in accounting or financial reporting
Accounting knowledge of IFRS and K3
Advanced Excel skills and solid analytical ability
Broad knowledge and experience of Accounting and Financial Control processes and systems in an international context with IFRS and SOX
Experience with Workday accounting system and AARO is an advantage
