Production volume- & Order planning specialist
Own production volume and order planning for one Polestar carline. Work close to product and factories, securing a buildable MPS in a fast moving global environment. Hybrid role in Gothenburg.
The opportunity
We are looking for a Production volume- & Order planning specialist. Someone to join our Global Volume Planning and Sales Operations team and take responsibility for planning and scheduling production for one of our carlines. You will secure an updated and buildable Master Production Schedule (MPS) and ensure that orders flow correctly through our systems so that production aligns with sales targets. This role suits someone who enjoys working close to the product, the factories and the organisation, and who thrives in a structured monthly planning process where many things can change from one day to the next.
You will be part of a small and highly collaborative group of five people, led by the Head Strategic volumes and Production volume- & order planning. Each person owns a specific carline, which means clear accountability combined with close teamwork. The team sits close to the daily operations and is involved in nearly everything that affects the car, giving you a broad and dynamic view of the business.
This position is located at PSHQ in Gothenburg, Sweden. We believe in a hybrid working model that supports both focus and collaboration.
The responsibilities
In this role you will manage the full planning and order scheduling process for your carline. You will analyse sales forecasts, align them with production capacity and material constraints, and secure a buildable MPS. You will take ownership of master data and proactively act when deviations arise. You will also work closely with cross‑functional partners to ensure correct authorisation, accurate order fulfilment and a smooth production flow.
Your main responsibility areas include:
Leading the MPS process for your carline and analysing sales forecast input in relation to capacity constraints
Securing buildable master data by checking product specification, markets and capacity conditions
Maintaining master data and driving corrective actions when needed
Monitoring plant and material capacities and identifying constraints that affect planning
Securing correct parameters during new product introductions, model year changes and market activations
Managing project and press car orders
Collaborating with markets on order specifications based on MPS
Driving order fulfilment at Last Day of Order Change (LDOC) for the full carline and optimising the production order book
Contributing to the development of future planning processes and supporting new industrial set‑ups
The ideal candidate
To succeed in this role, you need strong analytical ability and confidence working with complex flows, forecasts and capacity information. You enjoy structured processes but are also comfortable navigating quick changes when external or internal factors shift. You are curious about the product and the technical aspects that influence production planning. You work independently, seek answers when needed and maintain a high level of accuracy in your work. Self‑leadership and the ability to stay in control even in a fast moving environment are important.
You also collaborate well across functions and feel comfortable interacting with product teams, factories, logistics, markets and other stakeholders. You can explain planning decisions clearly and adapt your communication depending on who you are speaking with.
In addition, you will need the following qualifications:
A university degree in Business Economics or Engineering combined with several years of industrial experience, which provides the foundation needed to manage production planning and understand supply chain effects
Strong analytical skills and experience working with complex supply chain environments
Excellent skills in Excel and enabling accurate planning and data handling
Experience with process development and a proactive approach to improving ways of working
A results‑driven mindset and the ability to maintain structure under changing conditions.
