The opportunity
We’re currently looking for an HR Specialist to join our HR Business Commercial team and help us deliver agile and reliable HR support across the UK Sales Unit. This role is all about ensuring smooth payroll operations, accurate employee data, and providing trusted HR guidance to colleagues. You’ll be part of the HR Business Commercial team and report to the Head of Global HR Commercial with a dotted line to the HRBP of Polestar UK. The role is based in Bicester, UK. We recognizing the value of in-person collaboration and have a 3 days a week in the office Policy, but what matters most is having the time, tools, and trust to get things done - and to enjoy doing them.
The responsibilities
In this role, you’ll be expected to manage end-to-end payroll processes and support HR administration. Working closely with the HR Business Partner UK, you’ll play a key role in maintaining compliance and operational excellence. Your main tasks include:
Process payroll accurately and on time, including wages, bonuses, deductions, and benefits.
Maintain and update employee records for new hires, terminations, and salary changes.
Act as the HR point of contact for employees, resolving inquiries promptly.
Administer benefits such as pensions, insurance, and company schemes in line with UK legislation.
Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure data accuracy and compliance with tax and labor laws.

In addition, you’ll need the following qualifications:
Degree in HR, Payroll, or Administration, with 1–3 years of operational payroll experience.
Solid knowledge of UK payroll processes and related regulations.
Familiarity with HR systems (preferably Workday) and payroll software.
Ability to manage time effectively and suggest process improvements.
Fluent in English, with strong communication skills for stakeholder collaboration.
