We are currently looking for an experienced Head of Finance Switzerland to join our dynamic Team at Polestar Switzerland. Someone who will help to shape our financial strategy and ensure our business continues to thrive in a fast-paced and innovative environment.
This position is located in Zurich, Switzerland. We believe in a hybrid model when it comes to remote and onsite work, knowing that both in-person collaboration and individual time to focus are needed. What matters most is that people get the time and support to do what needs to be done - and enjoy doing it, of course.
The opportunity
As Head of Finance, you will play a pivotal role in the financial management of the business. Reporting directly to the Regional Central Europe CFO, you will lead financial accounting, controlling and reporting activities, communicating key financial information to internal stakeholders and NSC staff, managing forecasting, budgeting and planning, and overseeing provisions accounting.
In collaboration with the Local Business Controller, you will assist in the month‑end closing process, prepare forecasts and budgets, and provide financial support to various business functions. You will also coordinate and oversee the cash positioning of the legal entity, ensuring the accuracy of the Financial Statements and monthly reports to headquarters, and manage premium payouts to partners with the support of the Dealer Claims controller.
Additionally, you will be the first point of contact for the Regional CFO, Managing Director, and the Swiss Management Team on all financial matters for the Legal Entity, and, as a member of the entity’s management team, you will contribute to strategic business decisions and act as a key financial partner to the leadership.
The responsibility
- Act as a co-pilot to the Regional CFO for driving financial performance for the Swiss Entity.
- Focusing on sales margins (profits), operational growth (sales volumes), operating cost, working capital and cash flow.
- Driving financial bottom-line responsibility with high transparency towards global functions.
- Responsible for fulfilment of statutory reporting requirements including accounting, cash and tax requirements.
- Liaise with external and internal auditors and ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley controls.
- Governance and Control - secure execution and improvement of internal controls set by our global internal control team.
- Work in close collaboration with Polestar global operational teams, other finance and accounting functions (General, PTP, OTC, Treasury, FP&A).
- Focusing on improving data quality and data transparency.
- Market specific business cases.
The ideal candidate

At Polestar, you will be part of a cross-functional and international team, with German and English as a natural language for written and spoken communication.
- 5+ years of experience in a leadership role within finance and with automotive background.
- Bachelor's/master’s degree in finance or the equivalent experience.
- Abilities in working for a U.S. listed company environment with strong understanding of SOX and other regulatory requirements.
- Controlling background with knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP, local GAAP, local reporting requirements and regulations.
- Experience working closely with sales functions and financial planning.
- Advanced Excel skills (including modelling, scenario‑analysis) essential.
- Reliable and trustworthy personality with a tech-savvy and hands-on mentality.
- Team player with a commercial mindset and used to working in a global environment.
