Investor Relations Analyst
We are looking for an energetic and analytical-minded Investor Relations (IR) Analyst with financial analytical skills, good understanding of financial reporting and a very good command of English.
The Opportunity
IR analyst is a pivotal member of the Polestar Investor Relations team, supporting the Head of Investor Relations. The main areas will include Polestar engagement with sell-side analysts and investors (both institutional and retail) with an intention to develop further into an Investor Relations Manager position gradually adding tasks related to communicating Polestar’s financial results.
Reporting into the Head of Investor Relations, who reports to the Chief Financial Officer, you will be a key member of the broader Polestar Finance team, where you will build relationship with internal stakeholders.
This position is located at our HQ, in Gothenburg, Sweden. No international travel is required at this point in time.
The Responsibilities
The role is focused on the following areas of the Investor Relations function, related to engagement with the sell-side community and investors and reporting financial and operational results:
- Support in building and maintaining close dialogue with the sell-side analysts covering Polestar, including the responsibility for updating and reviewing the analyst consensus
- Engagement with sell-side analysts to organise quarterly calls following reporting and ensure responses to their queries in a timely and accurate manner
- Support with disclosures, which include regular reporting (half-year and full-year results and quarterly updates; annual reports on Form 20-F and UK annual reports)
- Preparation of quarterly Q&A document to support reporting
- This requires working closely with other areas of Finance, mainly Financial Planning and Analysis and External Reporting, Corporate Communications, Strategy and Legal
- Maintain records of investor engagement in the CRM system; update the share register analysis post 13-F filings
- Assist in running sell-side and investor meetings, including for investor conference, by preparing briefings ahead of calls and meetings
- Peer monitoring involves actively monitoring news from our competitors and comments from the sell-side analysts and putting together briefs for senior management
- Collating financial and operational results to perform analysis for insights into performance and trends among our peers
- Active monitoring of sector developments with a view of providing an update to senior management, including from insightful sell-side reports on the Electric Vehicle sector
- Support with preparation of the IR Board report ahead of Board meetings; analysis of the share price performance and news flow by Polestar and peers, share register movements, sells-side views and consensus, sector analysis, etc.
The Ideal Candidate
In order to succeed in this role, and at Polestar in general, there are a few characteristics you'll need to have. Tenacity. Flexibility. Curiosity. The ability to take the initiative, to meet deadlines and requirements, and to abandon ideas when they're not feasible.
- 2-3 years of experience in a finance function or a degree in Finance
- Good understanding of financial reporting and accounts (P&L, balance sheet, cashflow statement)
- Financially literate and analytical, financial modelling experience is not required
- Advanced MS Office skills (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
- Attention to detail and good organisational skills
- Ability to manage concurrent priorities and meet deadlines in a pro-active and positive manner
- Desire to learn and interest in Investor Relations and listed companies
- Positive attitude, curiosity and team player
Ideally based around Gothenburg, you will be based in our Headquarters and sit with the Finance teams. You will take shared ownership to deliver company, division and team targets and take active part in community engagements in support of Polestar’s strategy and ambitions.
