Risk Manager
The Opportunity
As Polestar grows, we are now expanding our Group Internal Audit & Risk Management team. An exciting opportunity for a risk manager who can work within a fast-paced and challenging organization. This role will be located at the Polestar Headquarter in Gothenburg, Sweden. This role reports to the Head of Group Internal Audit & Risk Management.
The Responsibilities
You will join a small, dynamic team where your main responsibility will be second line risk management activities. Key responsibilities will include:
- Develop and implement the organization’s risk management framework and related governing documents.
- Facilitate first lines identification, assessment, and monitoring of risks across operational, financial, strategic, and compliance areas.
- Facilitate risk assessments and workshops around the organization.
- Maintain and update the risk register, including appropriate mitigation plans.
- Provide regular risk reports to senior leadership and Audit Committee.
- Collaborate with Internal Audit to align risk management and audit priorities.
- Lead the development of key risk indicators (KRIs) and reporting metrics.
- Foster a culture of risk awareness across the organization.
You will handle matters independently and with full responsibility. Polestar has a global footprint, and you will be interacting and collaborating with a diverse and international team of colleagues in all areas of the business.
The Ideal Candidate
You have a relevant university degree and a minimum of three years’ experience of risk, audit or similar and preferably hold relevant certifications. You have knowledge of analyzing data and using popular data analysis tools such as Power BI.
For this role you need to have/be:
- In-depth understanding of risk management frameworks and methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge in risk modeling, analysis, and reporting tools.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with enterprise risk management (ERM) practices.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Understanding of industry regulations and compliance frameworks.
This position will involve both domestic and international travel, but most of the work will be performed in Gothenburg. As part of an international business, you are expected to be fluent in English in both written and oral communication.
