The opportunity

We're currently looking for an intern. Someone to join our Public Relations and Communications team in order to establish our premium electric car brand successfully in Germany and support a positive reputation for our brand and our cars. Someone with a passion for electric mobility, an interest in technology, and a desire to create the change we know is needed. And someone who doesn't mind the occasional bit of sustainable travel in the service of a cleaner form of electric performance.

The PR and Communications team is responsible for external and internal communications and cooperates strongly within the DACH region as well as with the Swedish Headquarters. This is a very exciting role where you will gain a great breadth of experience and knowledge, reporting directly into the Polestar Head of PR and Communications DACH.

This position is located at Cologne, Germany. We believe in a hybrid model when it comes to remote and onsite work, knowing that both in-person collaboration and individual time to focus are needed. What matters most is that people get the time, and support, to do what needs to be done. And to enjoy doing it, of course. Occasionally travel within Germany and potentially the DACH region is required. The internship is at least 6 months.

The responsibilities

In this role, you'll be expected to support the team on various projects and daily tasks. Working as a member of the Public Relations and Communications team in Germany, you'll be instrumental in driving positive coverage about our brand and products. See below for a more thorough breakdown of the various tasks and areas you'll be responsible for:

• Press fleet management
• Media Monitoring & Reporting
• Supporting internal communications
• Supporting newsletter creation: Support of the creation of the monthly newsletter, distributed to our network, Space staff and employees to inform and keep them engaged
• Supporting event management: such as test drives, range days and Polestar Space events, support travel management and arrangement as well as internal events.
• Creating text and content: support the team by drafting texts of all kinds for daily media work
• Supporting media and influencer cooperation in order to create further brand awareness
• Assist in administration

The ideal candidate

In order to succeed in this role, and at Polestar in general, there are a few characteristics you'll need to have. Tenacity. Flexibility. Curiosity. The ability to take the initiative, to meet deadlines and requirements, and to abandon ideas when they're not feasible.

• Sound knowledge of the media landscape, print, online as well as Social media
• Service orientation and professional communication skills
• Excellent German oral and written communication skills, English skills are a plus
• Strong organisation and planning skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
• a valid driver’s licence
• be a team player and eager to learn

In Addition, You'll Need The Following Qualifications

• MS Office (Excel, PPT, Teams, Outlook, etc.)
• Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree programme for the entire duration of the internship (ideally 3rd semester or later for Bachelor's)
• Ideally 1 or 2 prior internships, but no requirement
