Polestar has significantly expanded its research and development capacity with the establishment of a new R&D center in the United Kingdom. Located in Coventry, England, the new facility will allow Polestar to increase its own R&D capabilities, and further strengthens the brand’s ability to engineer its future electric performance vehicles

Do you want to leave a legacy for present and future generations? We are now looking for a new buyer within the Electric Propulsion System (EPS) team. A team that is dedicated to make a difference together with our colleagues at Polestar. This position will give you the opportunity to be in the leading edge of EPS development and drive sustainability in the supply chain.

This position is based in our HQ in Gothenburg, Sweden.  

The Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities in this role will be to lead Polestar sourcing for EPS related parts. It will be within your scope to establish supplier bases for each area defining short-and long-term sourcing strategies, and aligning with the business/stakeholders.

Further on you will:

• Perform procurement according to strategies that you have defined together with R&D.
• Negotiate commercial and legal agreements.
• Drive sustainability in the supply chain together with the sustainability team.
• Review purchase requisitions and identify and select contract/suppliers in accordance with defined strategies and agreements.
• Advise stakeholders on procurement issues, providing support and guidance at all stages of the procurement cycle as well as on modifications in requests. Improve collaboration with stakeholders and together towards common goals.
• Collaborate with other Geely Holding functions.
• Track key performance indicators on supplier and stakeholder contract compliance; define and take corrective actions to improve contracts compliance and continuously track supplier performance on quality and cost.
• Perform necessary market analysis to support the sourcing activity.
• Create and maintain commercial relations with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Initiate and conduct supplier evaluations and supplier audits.
• Take an active role in developing and supporting efficient standardized req-to-pay processes.

• Proven experience as buyer within the EPS functions or similar purchasing position.
• Experience of doing global business.
• Experience working with Chinese suppliers or/and Chinese colleagues is an advantage.
• Previous experience of working at OEMs of commercial vehicles / passenger cars or at suppliers of Electrical, Electronics and Software to OEMs is an advantage
• Strong motivation and dedication to drive sustainability in the supply chain.
• Thorough understanding of the procurement process and strategic sourcing.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office packages; working knowledge of Volvo SRM software and/or Workdays is a strong advantage.
• BSc (or higher) in Economics or Technical discipline from a university degree or equivalent institution.
• Get motivated by working in a very dynamic work environment meeting new challenges daily.
