Our mission is to accelerate the shift to sustainable mobility through advanced engineering and exceptional design. We are looking for talented individuals who share our passion for electric mobility and want to be part of shaping the future of automotive technology.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Propulsion System Controls Calibration Engineer with deep expertise in Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) to join our team in Gothenburg. In this role, you will be responsible for the calibration and fine-tuning of our propulsion control systems, ensuring optimal performance, efficiency, and drivability. This is a crucial position that involves working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality propulsion systems for our next-generation vehicles.
The Responsibilities:
- Calibration and Tuning: Develop, calibrate, and optimize propulsion control systems for BEVs, focusing on performance, efficiency, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- System Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software, hardware, and vehicle integration engineers, to ensure seamless integration of propulsion systems into the vehicle.
- Data Analysis and Validation: Conduct extensive data analysis and validation to ensure calibration accuracy. Utilize advanced tools and methodologies to identify and troubleshoot issues, making necessary adjustments to meet performance targets.
- Testing and Development: Design and conduct tests for various propulsion components and systems, both in simulation environments and real-world conditions. Participate in vehicle testing activities to validate system performance.
- Continuous Improvement: Support continuous improvement efforts by developing and implementing new calibration strategies, methods, and tools to enhance propulsion performance and efficiency.
- Documentation and Reporting: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of calibration procedures, test results, and system performance data. Provide detailed reports to support decision-making processes.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all calibration and development activities comply with industry standards and regulations related to safety, emissions, and performance.
- Mentorship and Collaboration: Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance and support. Foster a collaborative environment to encourage knowledge sharing and innovative problem-solving.
The Ideal Candidate
We are seeking a professional with technical expertise in calibrating BEV propulsion systems, specifically focused on optimizing performance and efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of interpreting complex data sets to develop actionable insights.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, are crucial, as you will need to convey technical concepts clearly to cross-functional teams and stakeholders. You should be a team player, able to contribute effectively to a positive team dynamic while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Lastly, adaptability and initiative are key; you must be willing to embrace changing project requirements and proactively prioritise to address challenges as they arise.
In addition to the above you’ll need:
- BEV Expertise: At least 5 years of experience in propulsion controls calibration, with a strong focus on Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with calibration and data analysis tools such as ETAS INCA or CANape. MATLAB/Simulink, and Vector tools (e.g., CANalyzer, CANoe) desirable but not a must.
- Systems Knowledge: Deep understanding of propulsion control systems, including electric motors, inverters, battery management systems (BMS), and control strategies.
- Testing Experience: Experience with both in-vehicle and test bench calibration and validation mandatory. Experience with HiL/SiL/MiL testing environments advantageous
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Driving License: A valid driving license is required.
