3D EDS Design Engineer

Polestar is currently looking to recruit a 3D EDS Design Engineer.
The responsibilities
The 3D EDS Design Engineer is responsible for;
- Design and packaging of EDS Wiring Harnesses and components using Catia V5 & Teamcenter.
- Produce robust designs in accordance with company Bill of Design (BoD), Bill of Process (BoP), Design for Manufacture (DFM) requirements and quality standards.
- Support the delivery of the EDS commodity including geometry, cost, weight, quality, and functional performance.
- Harness types include – Low and High Voltage, Signal, High Current and Grounding Straps.
- Provide Manufacturing support with all the required documentation and plans to support virtual builds.
- Actively participate in resolving any design/manufacturing issues when identified.
- Be able to present technical reports and understand complex Bill of Materials & vehicle electrical circuits.
- Provide prototype build support including rolling your sleeves up & getting stuck in.
- Able to provide proposals for Bracket, Plastic Channel, Rubber Grommets and fixing schemes.

Please see below a breakdown of the experience & skills needed:
- Demonstrable experience in a CATIA V5 Electrical Workbench environment.
- Possession of a product design, engineering or similar engineering higher education qualification.
- Excellent communication and co-ordination skills - at ease working with a cross-functional team of engineers and suppliers.
- Be prepared to be in the spotlight as part of a small team & hit the ground running.
- Take a holistic view of the car, always be prepared to change your plans if it ensures a better finished design overall.
