Functional Safety Domain Manager
The Opportunity
At Polestar, we are on a mission to bring safe Autonomous Driving (AD) and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) to streets worldwide. We are seeking a passionate and skilled individual who share our vision. As a Functional Safety Domain Manager, you will play a pivotal role in approving and developing the ADAS and AD systems that Polestar launches.
Your expertise in designing safe solutions will be invaluable to us, both in conceptual work and in refining current designs to enhance customer satisfaction. At Polestar, we adhere to ISO 26262 and SOTIF standards, ensuring the highest safety and quality.
This role can be based in Gothenburg, Sweden or Coventry, UK, with a hybrid remote work model that balances in-person collaboration with individual focus time. What matters most to us is that our team has the time and support to excel and enjoy their work.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coach the AD/ADAS engineering team in applying ISO 26262 at Function, System, and Sub-system levels.
- Collaborate with experienced teams to design, develop, and tune complete AD/ADAS systems.
- Work with suppliers to ensure the delivery of safe solutions.
- Collaborate with the central Polestar safety team as the main engineering interface for the AD/ADAS domain.
- Drive the development of critical deliverables (HARA, Functional Safety Concepts, Technical Safety Concepts) to ensure high-quality AD/ADAS solutions for Polestar customers.
- Define safety architecture and mechanisms to fulfill Safety Goals, FSR, and TSR requirements.
- Implement SOTIF in the best way for AD/ADAS development.

Qualifications
- M.Sc. degree in electrical or automotive engineering, physics, or a related field.
- Years of experience in applying functional safety.
- Experience in automotive system design and development.
- Solid knowledge of functional safety standards, ISO 26262 and SOTIF.
- A valid B driver’s license.
