Let us describe the challenge we offer
As a Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting Specialist at Polestar you will specialize in financial reporting for a US-listed company, complex technical accounting matters, and the preparation of our consolidated financial statements. You will support the business areas by collaborating with stakeholders in the local markets to operationalize technical accounting matters and ensure appropriate compliance with IFRS. You will also support Polestar’s consolidated group consolidation, revenue recognition, share-based compensation, financial instruments, and other key topics. You will be expected to build relationships with other areas of the business such as legal, tax, sales, treasury, and human resources as this will be critical to success in this role and accurate reporting. This position will sit amongst a growing global finance reporting and technical accounting team, located at our Gothenburg HQ, Sweden.
What you’ll do
Working in the Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting department gives you a big opportunity to work with a wide circle of contacts within the Polestar Group, working globally and cross-functionally, as well as a comprehensive view of the financial activities within the group. You will also work with the core business of the company and combine the accounting treatment with the operational view of the business.
Your mission will involve:
- Responsibility for the IFRS Accounting Policies for the Group
- Setting the Accounting treatment related to all kinds of agreements and projects
- Preparation of Group Annual Report and Interim Reports
- Ensuring financial compliance for the Group Annual Report and Interim Reports
- Ensuring financial compliance for the Subsidiary Annual Report
- Ensuring Annual Report filing compliance – Group and Subsidiary
- External Auditors primary contact and co-ordinating different Auditor tasks
- Internal Auditor primary contact
- And other ad-hoc tasks
Who you are
To be a great fit for this position we believe you have:
- Master’s in finance related degree
- ACCA, CIMA or ACA Qualification preferred.
- At a minimum 5 years of relevant experience from e.g., audit firm or similar position at an IFRS reporting company
- Extensive IFRS knowledge.
- An understanding of Local GAAP in European markets
- Capability to translate and apply IFRS regulations into operational complexity
